We currently have a reddish shrub(not sure what it exactly is) around our mailbox. My husband likes it but I think its boring looking. I need to replace it. Any suggestion?

You could keep it simple with just a shrub

I would use some type of stone or layers of stone to make a border around it. You can plant colorful flowers in the middle

Maybe you can plant some annuals(in the spring of course). You can keep changing them year to year so you won't gfet bored and your front yard always has a fresh look.
