Don't cut that tree down!

For anyone who enjoys knowing there are owls in your backyard, I thought I would add this post. Many people are not aware that there are owls in their own backyards. Although you can actually buy an "owl box" to put in a tree, many owls prefer dead trees. They hollow them out and then call it home. Barred owls and screech owls are two types of owls that take up residence in dead trees. So if you enjoy the compnay, don't cut that dead tree down.:)

Funny you should post this. My next door neighbor told me that he's heard great horned owls in our subdivision.
