Hello,
I think we need a thread for this plant. Cactus is a well known selection for landscaping. First, I'll share the type of cactus. It is divided into 6 categories.

1. Zygocactus
2. Ferocacti
3. Gymnocalycium
4. Mammillaria
5. Opuntia
6. Rebutia

Anyone else use the cactus in their landscaping?

For me, I think Cactus does not need a lot of water so I like it but I do hate the fact that it has sharp leaves.

Cactus is famous because it is attractive in its own way. Furthermore, we don't need to give full attention to them. I woul dlike to add more description on the cactus genre

Ferocacti - this kind of cactus is know for its beautiful spine formation. Originates in the Southwestern United States and Mexico. Not really difficult to take care of it, just need porous soil, lots of light and air, and allowed to dry between waterings.

hello guys..i really have a growing passion about cactus since it is easy to maintain..i want to share with you guys about the Opuntia cactus that homeSweethome describe.

Opuntia cactus are best grown in a terracotta type pot which has a heavy base as the plants can grow very tall. It should have at least one drainage hole in the base and it should be unglazed. This type of pot allows good drainage and allows the compost (therefor roots) to breath :)

Referring to homeSweethome's first post, I would like to share some information of the Gymnocalycium.

Gymnocalycium, also known as chin catcus, is a genus of about 70 South American species of cacti. Gymnocalycium refers to the flower buds bearing no hair or spines. Most species are small varying from 4 to 15 centimetres in size. They are popular for their easy flowering habits, although the flowers are generally brightly coloured.
