does this site offer anything else but pictures? what about the names and type plants to use? I don't understand how to look at a picture and know what plants they are using. i was hoping by paying the membership fee I would learn much more about what landscape plants to use..

What most people do is look at the photos to find a general design for their own landscaping project. I think it would be virtually impossible to write out every plant name in every picture. There are thousands of photos from all over the world.

What I did was print out a picture of a design I liked, and took it to my local plant nursery/landscaping company. They were able to name the plants for me (since that's what they work with every day) and they showed me 2-3 other plants that looked almost identical.

That's probably your best bet. That way you are sure to find a similar plant that will grow well in your climate.

In the bonus section there is a link to a plant identification database if you want to try to lookup the plant names yourself. But, there are about 50,000 plants in there and it would take much longer than just asking someone local what plants would look similar.
