Landscape Mistakes

What are some common landscaping mistakes that you are aware of? I thought this thread would be helpful to most.

I notice that some people cut their lawns too low. This enables weeds to take over more easily as well as creating burnt patches.

One thing I hate is when the yard isn't edged. It just looks unfinished and unpolished.

But one mistake people make is not watering enough. In the summer you have to be careful not to rely on the weather forecast. Too many times I've listened to the forecast and not watered because it was supposed to rain and then it didn't.
