Gardening helps the disabled

Speaking of tv shows, this past weekend watched a gardening show on tv. I unfortunately caught the last 10 minutes of it but what they showed was beautiful. They had a school of develomentally disabled kids who visited a garden center weekly and helped with the plantings and watering. Gardening is so relaxing but it is so healing for us all on many different levels. They explained that gardening helps these children with their fine and gross motor skills as well as take part in something so rewarding. One girl said it actually helped her to feel normal. I was so touched by this show. I wish it was going to be on again.
