Do you have to have a contractor's license to become a landscaper professionally?

a lot of this depends on where you live and what you plan on doing. in most cases if you are just going to mow lawns then you don't need to be licensed, but you need to have insurance, etc.

if you are going to be doing large landscaping jobs that involve bulldozers and moving land, then you usually do need a license.
