My poor Redcurrant bushes have been on a spiral of decline for the past 2 years, and a neighbour suggested moving them to another spot in the garden, where there's less constant sunshine. I've dug and prepared a small patch for them, but I don't know when to move them. I don't want to end up killing them. Anyone know the correct time of year?

If I remember correctly, soft fruit bushes in general should be moved around this time of year, but make sure to clip them back hard, to promote new growth. Cutting the roots in a bit with a spade will also promote more small root growth, so the plant can re-establish itself quicker.

Thanks Carroway. I'll move them tomorrow :)
Would Raspberries come under the heading of soft fruits? It would be nice to keep all my fruit in one place.
Do make sure that the hole is large enough to allow the roots to spread out. Yes, raspberries are soft fruits.
