Netting

Do I need to use netting when I create my pond in order to protect the fish from prey?

I don't know if you definitely need it or not. However, I have a friend who's had some trouble with an egret that came in and ate the fish out of his pond. He had no choice but to put netting over it for a while.

I've never seen a pond with netting before. That's amazing that birds would swoop down and eat the fish

The only trouble with ponds I remember a friend telling me was ferile cats getting in the yard and going after the fish. I wish peopel would just spay and neuter their animals. Ferile cats can be so annoying for many reasons.
